Carter had a sister named Kathleen or "Kate". I am trying to learn more about her and hope there are a few folks who still might remember her. She was born in 1902 on Wellesley Island and lived in Omar. Her first marriage was to a Mr. Abbott whose first name I don't know. He was a fisherman and taxidermist and apparently had a television show for a while. Kate's second husband was Nelson Philo or Philow, whom she married about 1968 I think. for a time, they ran a sandwich stand on the roadside for passersby across from their house. Kate was a nurse who evidently had a great reputation for her homemade remedies, especially her cough syrup. She worked for a Dr. Pilpel at one time. She died in 1984 and is buried on Wellesley Island.
