Dear Jan, There were thousands of families in the area between the American Revolution and the Civil War, many migrating westward through the Great Lakes on boats. Jefferson County has an incredible history of the country in its footprint. The American Revolution split families, many brothers who were loyalists or families of indentured servitude were given land in Canada, right across the Lake, along the Thousand Island chain, or Wolf Island areas in exchange for serving "the crown". Some moved back later, some didn't. Is there other names of Hall family that you know of? descendants, in-laws, etc. That might help you help us locate common ancestors. I was trying to find the Fuller family of Cape Vincent, descendants of Rev. War soldier Isaac Fuller, and found many other lines of relations on either side of Lake Ontario: Buel(l), Farley, Olmste(a)d, Boyer, Chrysler/Crysler/Kriessler.Griessler/Kruessler, Bradstreet, Dudley, Lemieux, Crittenden, Cole, Nichols and more. If you have any more names or dates, please post them. Isaac Fuller lived in Cape Vincent, and after his death several of his children remained there and descendants spread out around Jefferson County. Their distant cousins, Mayflower Fuller descendants also lived in Jefferson County. Several sons were sailors and became Captains and Engineers of Great Lake ships and settled around Lake Michigan.
