People buried here were among the original settlers of the area. I hope that sounder thinking will prevail and the original historical markers that were put in place well over 100--some closer to 200- years ago can remain. I have an ancestor who was buried here in 1840. This is history of the region as well as a place to honor ancestors. And 60 days is very little warning in this winter season to try to remove and replace markers. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My suggestion is that someone in the vicinity propose or get this as an Eagle Scout project for some local candidate/troop. These types of old cemetery rehab projects have been popular in various parts of the country.
