Hi Nan and others I have many Jefferson County Ancestors - wish I could find some present day relatives. My Grandfather: Stennett Eugene Miller b. S. Rutland/Tylersville as a young adult removed to Fredonia, Chautauqua Co., NY where he married Hannah J. Kesner and had 2 sons Howard Porter Miller and my father Anson Eugene Miller. Stennett's parents were: Father: Russell A. Miller b. Oct 1843 Jefferson Co., NY. He served in Co A 20th NY Cavalry during the Civil War. Mother: Elizabeth A. HOWARD born March 1848 in England her father BArtholomew HOWARD also served in Civil War and her brother Michael was killed at the 2nd battle at Bull Run. The Howard's first resided in Antwerp, and then removed to Lewis Co- Barnes Corners. RUSSELL A. Miller was the son of Aaron & Hannah MILLER - need maidenname of Hannah (GREEN?) Siblings of Russell - Morris, Willias, Ruth, and others. They resided Tylersville. Aaron MILLER was son of Ambrose and Amy SEAMAN Miller. md 1811 at Adams Center. Who were Amy Seaman's parents? Ambrose MILLER was born 1791 in Mass. (where? - parents?) came to Jefferson county about 1806- believe he is closely related to Lewis Miller family. But how? Any help on any of these lines would be greatly appreciated. Gaps to fill: who did sister's of Russell MILLER marry? any family still in Jefferson County.
