I am searching the ALLEN family in Brownsville. In the 1840 census living together were : Edmund Allen, Elisha Allen, Sarah Allen ( my gggrandmother) who married George S. BARNETT, and Samuel Allen and Benjamin Allen. I think Edmund was born 14 Aug 1788, in Shrewsbury, Monmoth, New Jersey. Sarah (Sally) Allen was born 21 Jun 1813 in Pamelia, St. Lawrence Co., New York. I think Edmund must be her father, but I'm not sure. We have searched for her death certificate, but think it's the one that says unknown for her parents. Is there anyone there who would know about this family? I think Elisha Allen, and George S. Barnett are both buried there as George died in 1850. Sarah (Sally) remarried and moved to Michigan. Edmund was secretary for the congregational church and the cemetary in that area while he was alive. He married "Elizabeth (Betsy) Caroline ______?. I wonder what her last name was .....or did an Allen marry an Allen? I am at a dead end unless I can find who her parents were. I appreciate any help anyone can give me on this. Cheers --- MaryLou
