Hi!, Today at Ancestry's free database of the Index to NYS equipment claims for the War of 1812 that my ancestor (Asa MANLEY, (b.1786,CT res. 1820-1830, Jefferson Co., NY, d.1859, Trumbull Co., OH) was a volunteer in the NYS militia.
