    3. I am told not many of you know of this nor does your historical society there. I cannot send what I have in my possession, or my hide would be hanging on some barnhouse door before the ink dried on this note, due to the copyright laws....b u t there was a transcript or book "MALTBY GENEALOGY -- AMERICAN LINEAGE" by Mrs. Dorothy Maltby Verrill (1877 - 1957) SUPPLEMENTS by Prof. Fred A. Molby (1878 - 1968) in the neighborhood of 800 pages of nothing but names,places,anecdotes,history...just to name one-there is a 2nd Lt. Jonathon Maltby in the U S Navy serving under a 1st LT John Paul Jones in the Battle of Bunker Hill, and the bravery of Jonathon, a letter from Geo Washington awarding him a "cutter" of his own to Captain! also this is on two websites....the first one being the Maltbys, the second one the Maltbys connecting to Wm. the Conqueror on back to 780. anyone having ancestors there in Jefferson would do well if they checked this book out. Only downside to this, is that it is not indexed, not what I have anyway, however a published version might be. I am trying to locate one that is on the market for sale or thru a interlibrary loan, but so far no luck. appears there might be pictures in it also. my advice to Mr. Ray and all the rest of you that your ancestors going back this far is probably in this book, if it isn't Mr. Ray the coffee is on me! in my opinion this is a documented masterpiece, and should be on every shelf of your libraries.
