Ran across this while looking through some old publications that had been recently donated to our local Genealogical Society.....Thought it might be of interest to someone since the town of Houndsfield is mentioned.... Thomas Brown "Ancestral Notes" from the Chedwato and Supplement, Vol 12, March 1965, Page 229 THOMAS HINMAN - Revolution - W18003 New York and Vermont - service when living Nine Partners, N.Y. in Dutchess Co., he enlisted in 1776 in Co. of Capt. Tallmadge, for one year. Moved to Wallingford, Vt. In 1778 and served 7 months in Capt. Thomas Sawyer Co. Pension on rolls of Albany, N.Y. commencing March 4, 1831, ending Feb. 27, 1842. After the war he lived at Wallingford, Vermont for 10 to 12 years and then to Middlebury, Vermont and then to Cazenovia New York and then to Halderman, Canada. He married in 1779 and his age was 21 years, 5 months and 13 day. . .married on 13 Mary to Rhoda Curtis of Nine Partners. He died at Halderman, Canada February 23, 1811 and Rhoda died Houndsfield, N.Y. in 1842. John Clark of Brownsville, Jefferson Co., N.Y. on Sept. 9, 1845, age 70 years, stated he knew him in 1798 in Middlebury, Vermont. Laura and Ebenezer Allen of Houndsfield, N.Y. on July 18, 1845 made a deposition. Laura age 56 years in 1845 stated she was a daughter of Rhoda and Thomas Hinman. Bible record gives: Thomas Hinman married May 21, 1779 to Rhoda Curtis. Thomas Hinman, husband of Rhoda, died February 23, 1811 in the 54th year of this age. Thomas Hinman, son died June 1814, never married and left no children. Theron Hinman born Feb. 6, 1780, died June 20, 1814 in the 34th year.
