Well, Mark, I wanted to get time to apologize to you - I didn't mean to dispute you, really and truly. But, once again, you and your fine resourceful have set us all straight. I was thinking earlier this morning that I should look at the wonderful map that the former Earleen O'Dell had given me a few years back -- can't think of her last name now, but her husband co-owns that fabulous hotel down near what we kids called, "The Dock." I had to go out this morning so I didn't get to look up the map.....so, thanks, Mark, for saving me from digging around in my huge satchell of tour goodies. Folks, it's a nicely done map and Sackets is a beautiful and interesting place to visit -- be sure to visit Mark's websites. While on the subject of Sackets -- does anyone remember the 1962 fireworks display held for the 1812 commemoration? They did the fireworks from a boat out beyond the Battlefield -- one of the fireworks displays was in the form of a ship -- outstanding -- I've never forgotten it -- come 2012 I hope they will repeat it with even more flare. Just remember, an old lady back in year 2000 recommended you all see it if you can. <grin> Maybe you can find a photo of the event, Mark, for your site.
