Perhaps, some of you recall my email requesting information as to the churches in Brownville, NY due to the marriage of my Grandparents in the 1880's. So many times I answer email and help people when I know the answer even if it is not my Surnames I'm Researching. But it seems that everytime, that I have requested something on the NYJEFFER List someone writes back and reminds me that if I want an answer order an LDS Film or go to the LDS and look it up. What ever happened to helping others? I help on many occasions. Perhaps I should stop helping others seeking information. . The person gave me the Churches in Brownville, however they stated that LDS has the films and how to look them up.Also stated they would do the work for me this time. I have a small Genealogy Business and I teach at for our local Gen. Society and also taught at the LDS Family History Fair this Year. I also know that the Local LDS keeps certain local Films on Hand because, down Here I look things up for People everyday. Therefore I felt someone in this Area could do it easily for me. If they did not want to,then they should not of done it. I do not make a fortune at my small Business and I have an Ill husband. Is it wrong to write to a local List for an Answer to a Question? Do I have the wrong Idea that this List is to Help one another? To think that I was born in Watertown NY makes me wonder what has ever happened to the nice people I knew from there. I would also like to state that sometimes the LDS Library Information does not have each and every Church Listed.
