The subject of this notice was born in Hartford, Connectiticut, In December, 1804 and was removed to the town of Watertown, New York in March 1805, grew up, and was identified with the county, and as much interested in its advancement and prosperity as any man in this section. Being retiring in nature and a rather delicate consitution, he has not taken an active part in the affairs of the county but no one in it was better informed on all subjects pertaining to its welfare. In the death of Mr. Churchill his family have lost a benefactor, his relatives a kind and social friend, and the comunity a neighbor that was eminently just in every transaction of life. Thus passeth away a good man in the fulness of years, regretted by his friends, never to be forgotten. In behalf of his sisters, the writer of this would return thanks to the family and friends who so kindly cared for him during his sickness and death and assisted in his burial.
