    3. Shirley, I should have opened up all my email last week but now that I have I see that you had a lot more questions. I agree that these people could have joined the church in Kirkland , Ohio. When you mentioned a place called Council Point I too wondered if that wasn't Council Bluffs. When you said that your ancestor was killed there that aroused my curiosity. There were many who died there during that hard winter of 1846-47. There is a place across the Missouri River in Nebraska called Winters Quarters then but now known as Florence. Some 400 persons are buried there in a common grave and I believe there is a record of all who are buried there. I have visited it a couple of times as I have some ancestors also buried near there in unmarked graves. It is too bad that you couldn't go to this cemetery on your last trip. The LDS church has a visitors center there and I'm sure they could have been of help to you. It would be interesting to see why your ancestor is listed as killed. Since it sounds like you had at least one ancestor come West to Utah with the Mormon pioneers you shouln't have much trouble researching out this line as there are probably many other descendents who have done this.Have you tried the LDS site at familysearch.org? Ancestry.com also have a great deal of information on LDS lines and you could give me your names to type in if you wish. I am a subscriber. Please let me know what I can do to help. Perhaps if you go on usgenweb for Florence Nebraska or Council Bluffs, Iowa they might have a listing of those buried at Council Bluffs (Iowa) or Florence Nebraska in the Pioneer Cemetary. If not, I could probably find that information for you.
