Hi Don, I do not know of the Orth family but from my own experience in finding ancestors, you very well could be on the right track. The Anglo spelling of Johannes was indeed John. -----Original Message----- From: Don C. Does anyone have any information concerning this individual(s)? I am attempting to locate the brother (Johannes Orth) of my great-great-great grandfather and who apparently settled in New York state around 1847. He came from Fuerstengrund, Hessen, Germany. Perhaps this is the person for whom I am searching. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. > >Don C.Orth >Ottawa, Ontario. >dco122@rc.gc.ca > > >============================== >The RootsWeb WorldConnect Project: >12.8 million individuals and counting. >http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/ > >
