    1. [NYJEFFER-L] Hello, new to list
    2. Hello, I am new to this list and am researching my relatives. First family that I am researching is the surname BARKER. My great grandfather SETH BARKER, lived in Pamelia, NY. He emigrated from England to Canada to the States around the year 1894. From some papers that I have seen, I believe that he left England form the port of Liverpool, to where I am not sure. He left Canada in the providence of Ontario from a city that he spells Kugota, or Keugota or something close to that. I am not sure what city he refers to in this spelling. He came from Ontario, Canada to Cape Vincent, NY on the vessel "MAUD" he writes. Seth also had a brother names Ephraim Barker. Ephraim also came to the US, not sure when and lived in Cape Vincent for at least 40 years. Ephraim married a woman named Ada. Ephraim was the director of Citizens bank in Cape Vincent and a member of St. John's Episcopal church in Cape Vincent. He also ran a family farm. His brother Seth, my great grandfather, married a DELLA COUNTRYMAN, her father was David Countryman, mother Nancy Miller. They are buried in Evans Mills old cemetery, I believe. Basically, I am looing for information about any of these people that can assist me in my family tree. Second family that I am researching is the HERMANN family of Watertown, NY. ADOLF HERMANN born 1901 came from Germany on 4/10/1925 and settled in Redwood, NY and then moved to a family farm on Rt. 11 outside of Calcium/Watertown area. His father was JOHANNES HERMANN and mother was URSULA HERMANN, both of Germany. I have no other information on his parents. I did read, that when you apply for naturalization, that you do it in a court close to where you reside. Would I be able to find ADOLF"S naturalization perhaps for town of Redwood? Thank you. Laura
