Not all of this is here but a very good portion is: Jefferson County Journal April 21, 1885 page 4 Mortgage Sale & Foreclosure---- Whereas, default has been made in the payment of the money secured by a mortgage dated the 10th day of August, 1878, executed by John F. WEAVER, of the town and village of Adams, Jefferson County and the State of New York, mortgagor, to Erastus HALE, of same place, mortgagee, which said mortgage was recorded in the clerk's office of said county of Jefferson at Watertown city on the 22d day of August 1878, at 4:56 o'clock p.m. in liber 116 of mortgages at page 238. And whereas, said mortgage with the bond to which the same was collateral was for valuable consideration on the 24th day of March, 1884, duly assigned and delivered by said mortgagee to the undersigned Daniel SMITH, of the town of Rodman, county and state aforesaid, and the same is now owned by him, and said assignment has been duly recorded in the said clerk's office of said county on the 21st day of April, 1884, at 10:40 o'clock a.m. in liber 129 of mortgages at page 238. And whereas, the amount claimed due the said assignee on the said bond and mortgage and by virtue thereof at the time of the first publication of this notice April 21, 1885, is the sum of four hundred twenty-seven and 42 100 dollars, to wit: $400 principal and $27.40 for interest thereon from March 1st, 1884, which is the whole amount unpaid on said mortgage, and no suit, proceeding or action at law or otherwise has been instituted to recover the said mortgage debt or any part thereof. Now, therefore notice is hereby given, that by virtue of the power of the sale contained in said mortgage and recovered therewith, and in pursuance of the statute in which case made and provided, the said mortgage will be foreclosed by sale of the mortgaged premises described in said mortgage and hereinafter described by said assignee David SMITH, at public auction at the law office of MAXON & RAMSDELL, on Main street in the village of Adams, in the town of Adams, in the said county of Jefferson, N.Y. on the 23rd day of July, 1885, at 2 o'clock in the afternoon of that day. The following is a description of the mortgaged premises to be sold as aforesaid as contained in said mortgage, viz: All that piece or parcel of land situated in Adams, Jefferson county, New York, and bounded as follows, to wit: Commencing at the top of the bank of the Sandy Creek, at the south-west corner of land sold to D.O. HOLMAN by John F. WEAVER; thence running westerly on the top of the said bank to a point about three rods from the corner of the tannery; thence southerly to the centre of Sandy Creek; thence southerly along the centre of Sandy Creek to the corner of land owned and occupied by George HART and brother W.D. HART; thence northerly along the easterly line of said HART's land to the south-west corner of the land sold by John F. WEAVER to Ezra MARTIN; thence easterly along said MARTIN's south line to the south-east corner of said MARTIN's land; thence southerly about thirteen feet..........
