January 4, 1999 Hi Folks: The 1850 Census indicates a John Orth living in Pamelia, Jefferson County, and the 1860 Census indicates a John Orth living in Alexandria, Jefferson County. Does anyone have any information concerning this individual(s)? I am attempting to locate the brother (Johannes Orth) of my great-great-great grandfather and who apparently settled in New York state around 1847. He came from Fuerstengrund, Hessen, Germany.
