    1. STEPHEN SUBRA in Cape Vincent Area
    2. Subra, Kevin
    3. Hello. I'm a new subscriber, and I thought I'd jump right in. I'm searching for additional information on Stephen and Frances SUBRA. They are listed, with their children, in the 1850 and 1860 census in the Cape Vincent records. Shortly after the 1860 census, the family migrated westward to Wisconsin, and some farther into Minnesota. I'm wondering if there are land records (Stephen was listed as a farmer in 1850, and a carpenter in 1860) available. Also, this couple lost at least one son (a child) between the 1850 (3 years of age, born circa 1847) and 1860 census (not listed). His name was BAPTISTE SUBRA. I'm asking if anyone would know of local cemeteries near or in Cape Vincent, and how I might access information there. Any other ideas would be appreciated on locating members of this family. Thanks so much! FYI - It's amazing what you don't know until you start looking. Stephen and Frances migrated from France (no records yet, but both were born there). I discovered that Frances followed her family to Minnesota. For a short time, they lived in Iowa (where I'm at!), and this is where she died. Her grave is in Vinton, IA (visited it just last week). She's my g-g-g grandmother. Neat. Thanks again for any help.
