HEWITT---In Theresa, Feb 16, 1887, Mrs. Idell HEWITT, wife of George W. HEWITT and daughter of Charles W. and Ilrica E. EVANS, aged 25 yrs. 10 mos. 16 days. She was married Dec. 25, 1876 by Rev. S. M. WARN. BLAKE---In Watertown, Feb. 23, 1887, Elizabeth, wife of James BLAKE, aged 54 yrs. CLIFFORD---In Richland, Feb. 3, 1887, Claude R., son of Albert and Cora CLIFFORD, aged 4 yrs. 10 mos. HUBBS---In Brownville, Feb 22, 1887, Mary, wife of Bradley HUBBS, aged 49 yrs. 6 mos. HAMLIN---At Ox-Bow, Feb. 17, 1887, Cora E., dau. of David and Elizabeth HAMLIN, aged 25 yrs. HALL---In Mannsville, Feb. 18, 1887, Mrs. Harriett HALL, aged 80 yrs. 9 mos. PETERS---In Theresa, Feb. 15, 1887, son of Leonard PETERS. WILMOTT---In West Carthage, Feb. 19, Miss Ada WILMOT ae. 26 yrs. MARTIN---On Jan. 20, 1887, Benjamin MARTIN entered into rest. He had long been known as one of the now few survivors of the early settlers of the town of Ellisburgh. He was born in Swansea, Mass., Dec. 13, 1803, and came into this town with his parents in October of the following year. For 82 years he has been well known in this section of the county. His early years were spent on what was known as the Calvin CLARK farm and later, on the one now occupied by his brother, Elisha, about one mile south of Belleville. He was one of a large family. Five brothers and three sisters yet live, the youngest of whom is 65 years old. Febuary 4, 1830, he married Miss Almira EDWARDS, with whom he lived 57 years. She yet survives him. Six children were born to them, of whom two died in infancy. Three sons, Ludowick, George, and Wellington and a daughter, Mrs. Charles COBURN are living. FRASER---In Ellisburgh, Mar. 6, 1887, John FRASER, aged 83 years and one day. Mr. FRASER came from Brattleboro, Vt. to the farm on which he died. more later
