Hi, Alice: I'm looking for a Nutting/Read connection. I found a passage in The History of Jefferson County that Stephen Read sold his land to his brother in law Samuel Nutting about 1817. There is no Samuel Nutting in the 1820 or 1830 census for Henderson tho. There are plenty of other Nuttings. I'm hoping to find Garret B. Read's Parents and perhaps the above Stephen Read might be his father. Where should I look. I checked the Deeds for Jefferson county but couldn't find any for the above transaction could it be in Oneida's records.
