    3. To change your email address on the list, I believe you want to first unsubscribe with the address you don't want to use. Send 'unsubscribe' while using that email address and you will be automatically unsubscribed. The list will send an automatic reply to that email address that you are unsubscribed to confirm that's what you really want to do. Put unsubscribe in the subject line and make unsubscribe the only word in the text of the message. No other words, no quotes, no name or automatic signature. You should fairly quickly get a confirmation as to the unsubscribe. Next, subscribe using the other email address. Put the word subscribe in the subject line and make subscribe the only word in the message. The automated process will send a confirmation note to that email address that you just used. Having said all that - I believe there is a way also to change over your past queries so that if people a year or two down the road want to respond to it they will see the yahoo or other internet based email address. I've never done that myself. I'm pretty sure there is info on that at www.rootsweb.com. In fact there is quite a bit of good basic hints and tips about genealogy at that site. If you change your email address without changing old postings you've made to the list then you've stranded those queries/messages. I think I have some really old ones myself from past email addresses but I've been on Hotmail for years now.
