He is also distantly related to the Syracuse Eagan real estate family by marriage, through the Demong family. The Johnstown Eagans lived in England for a generation after having left Ireland. They may have lived near Galway at one point. Jim has done the DNA testing and has been connected to Eagan cousins in Australia, but the connection is something like 20 generations back and no one can figure out quite how they are related. We are not currently aware of a connection to your Egan family, but it is good to compare notes. His Jefferson county connection is through the Sweetman family.
