Hello and Welcome Everybody I would like to thank everyone for the great respond that we have had on the Mailing List with all theses requests asking for information. All of these queries will not be answered immediately as it takes time for others to check their records, books and etc. to see if they have the information you are seeking. Patience is one important virtue of good Genealogy. "Good Genealogy is not Fast and Fast Genealogy is not Good". I would also like to WELCOME all the new Mailing List subscribers at the [email protected] and hope we can be of help to you. If you haven't already sent us a query please do so. We are willing and waiting to hear from you. NOTE: 1. Be sure to read the tips on how to write your query to make it more effective and what is permissable on this Mailing List before sending it. When in question contact me directly.. NOTE: 1 (b): There will be a separate Email (from this) where I will clarify expected guidelines on queries and "How to write an effective Query" for this Mailing List It will be will be marked from [email protected] Administrator.and I advise all Listers to read it and print a copy for your records. . I would like to mention a couple very important things regarding this List: 1.This List is for people seeking Genealogical information regarding the Location, Records or People living in the County of Jefferson, New York State or who previously lived or had some connection to Jefferson County. So please make mention of Jefferson County or a specific location in Jefferson in your requests. 2. There will be NO MENTION of MONEY for services offered at anytime on this list. This refers to requests by an individual or offers by an individual. This list is based on people willing to do a service or help a fellow lister as an ACT of KINDNESS. In other words this list is not for soliciting or prmoting monetary gain for anyone. If a request is made in error I personally will direct the respond. 3. As the Administrator I am required to maintain the List and that includes making the Guidelines for this List. So I will contact people to clarify their queries, intervene to resolve any problems, and direct and review the emails that are submitted. I will also determine what falls within these guidelines and I urge you if you have any questions that you email me directly at: [email protected] 4. Genealogy is the main purpose of this list. History is very closely associated with Genealogy and both of these topic's go hand and hand. So that makes Historical mention permissable. Also any "How To" or Where To Look" Topics are included. At times we have other things (within a fine line) that might be worthwhile or be of interest that do not quite fit under the terminology of Genealogy. If you would like to include anything and your not sure it will meet the guidelines, just drop me and line and discuss it prior to sending your email. We can be flexible when necessary. 5. Sending queries alone will not do your entire Genealogy for you. They are only another "tool" to gain the knowledge of where to look, how to look, places to look, help seek other researchers, find cousins in the same immediate family and exchange genealogical research and history. It is up to you to follow through with these "clues" and complete your own family history. I wish everyone success and "Good Luck" with responds on their queries. Do not give up easily, as a seasoned researcher never gives up and continues to diligently and thoroughly search every source and never leaves "an unturned stone".
