Hello Vicki from WNY: I just read your message including surnames you are researching & it includes the WRIGHT name. I am researching Abigail ( at this time we believe her maiden name to be WOODSON/WOODSUM) WRIGHT whose known children were David b 1819/1820, Henry b 1824, Sarah b 1829 & Maria b 28 May 1832 in WIlna, Jefferson Co., NY. I am trying to confirm that Asa was her spouses given name. There is an Asa WRIGHT in Champion in the 1820 census & again in Champion in the 1830 census. I recently received a copy of a bankruptcy started in 1877 by ana Asa D WRIGHT & his brother John WIlliam WRIGHT, for land in Wilma Twp, but they lived in Denmark across the county line in Lewis & he was to young for my g,g,g,grandfather. Abigail was b in 1793 in MA. & the family is found with her as head of household in the 1850 census for Sangamon Co., IL with the above listed children. Are you researching any WRIGHT's in that area? My cousin recently had his DNA done for the WRIGHT surname project & it confirms that we descend from Deacon Samuel WRIGHT of Springfield & Northampton, MA. If anyone has information on this WRIGHT line, I would really appreciate hearing from you. I know Gov. Silas WRIGHT of St Lawrence Co., NY descends from him also. Carol
