BERTRAND / GUYNN(GOUIN) / JOHNSON / TIERNEY / MORRISON / HOLLENBECK / VAN HOUSEN John BERTRAND m/ Helen Defoe(Dufoe) in Kingston Ontario and came to Jefferson County about 1830.They first settled in Cape Vincent where a number of their children where born.They moved to Clayton where more of their children were born and raised as well, most of them staying there in Clayton area. One of John BERTRAND's children was Edward born about 1819 in Kingston ,Ontario.He married 1st Sophia FERTILE in Canada.They had approx. 9 children.The 4th born was Peter BERTRAND 1843(my g g grandfather) Clayton.Peter m/ Mary Jane MORRISON d/o Andrew MORRISON and Gertrude HOLLENBECK in Cape Vincent abt / 1867.My g grandfather Charles Louis was born of this union DEC 29,1870.Charles m/ Alice M. JOHNSON on 16 Mar 1901 d/o Joseph JOHNSON and Margaret TIERNEY.Charles and Alice had one child,Glenrose BERTRAND b/ 07 Jun 1903.She married Howard Louis GUYNN 26 Jul 1924,Clayton.They too had one child,my mother Mary Felicia GUYNN b / 11 Dec 1924 Clayton, d/ 05 Dec 1989 Venice, Florida. Mary married William James CRAVEN b/ 14 Oct 1913 d/ 23 May 2000,Fort Wayne In. on 05 Jan 1941 in Queens ,NY. They had 3 children Glenn Howard CRAVEN b /31 Jan 1942 d/18 Sep 1981. My brother Bill lives in In and me,Denise, I live in Puerto Rico. I have a gr grandfather named Louis Micheal b.28 Jan 1896 in Brasher, St Law, NY d.Mar 1967 in Pikesville, Baltimore, MD married Kathryn MILMORE b.8 Sep 1896 d.Jan 1986 Lowville, Lewis, NY. I found out from a KIRKEY that his parents were John Charles (no info, just died before 1910) and Rose Anne KIRKEY b.29 Jul 1877 d.aft Mar 1941. I cannot find them in the 1900 census in which they would all be alive and living together. I cannot find any newspaper article about him or his deadly accident. I'm stuck hard. My surnames from Jefferson County: Hubbard, Dewey, Tubbs. Unsolved mysteries from Jefferson County: 1) Who was Clark S Hubbard's mother? Clark was born in Aug 1846 in Ellisburgh. His father Jeremiah married for the second time Harriet Benton on 11 Oct 1848 In Barre, Orleans, New York. All three are in the 1850 census in Ellisburgh near Jeremiah's father Jesse. In 1860 they are in Barre, and in 1870 Clark is in Linn county Missouri. I have not been able to find any information on the first wife. Help would be greatly appreciated. 2) What was the maiden name of Elmira A married to Daniel C Tubbs before 1836? They are in the 1850 census in Henderson. By 1870 they were in Linn county, Missouri.
