    1. Re: [NYJEFFER] Asa M. Bishop burial place
    2. In a message dated 12/30/2006 7:37:08 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, [email protected] writes: It is possible looking at the time span that Capt John's son Asa was the grandfather of your Asa. Pat, thank you for all the research tips. I did mention in my first email that Asa's parents were William and Cynthia Sildona Maxham Bishop. William was the son of Morris and Olive Goit Bishop who are both buried in Woodlawn Cemetery in Sandy Creek (in 1853 & 1851). I mentioned that Asa's brother, Abner, was buried in Woodlawn Cem. (in 1853) along with his parents Wm and Polly (in 1896 & 1907). The only other sibling of Asa was Rosa J. Bishop. She married Olin D. Cornwell and is also buried at Woodlawn Cem. (in 1940) I have scans of the original church records of Asa's birth and his marriages. The Richland Historian, Shawn Doyle, also found information on William Bishop's family through a bio on Ira Bishop, Wm's brother. This bio names the parents and also all of the siblings. It is on page 193 of the 1895 Oswego County History. Shawn requested death and burial info on 6 July 2006 from Tammy Miller, the Sandy Creek Town Clerk, I have not had a response as yet. Sheila
