Surnames: PRICE Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.jefferson/12431/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Searching for information on Joseph PRICE b 1813 NY married (1) Gitty (UNKNOWN) 1812-1859 children: Catharine m James Bush, Harvey Van R. m Lovina Jones, Lyda; Julia, Joseph H, Gitty E., Levi, Irwin & Robert married (2) Margaret Ann WAGONER 1832-1920 children: Ellen, Nancy, Phebe, Gracie, Eugene, Estella Joseph and Gitty are first located (1850) in Danube, Herkimer County NY; then relocate to Philadelphia, Jefferson County, NY by 1859 (Gitty is buried in Chaufty's Cemetary, Theresa, NY.) I think Joseph may be the son of John/Jonathon and Hulda (Unknown) Price. The John and Hulda lead seem most likely, as they are found as neighbors in Herkimer County as late as 1850 and residents since 1800 - with matching census data for children in residence in 1810, 1820, 1830. I think John (Johannes) is the son of Nicolaus and Maria PRIES - based on a baptism documented at Reformed Protestant Dutch Church, German Flatts Twp, Herkimer, New York. Does any have any research to validate or refute the parentage of Joseph? Any leads as to the maiden name of Gitty? BTW - I descend from the Joseph Price m. Gitty (Unknown) line.
