    3. Tony -- I don't have specific information concerning the DEWEY after whom Dewey Ave. in Watertown, NY is named. But the David DEWEY who married Polly COLE could not have been a Revolutionary War veteran, since he was born 31 Dec 1786, according to the 1898 Dewey genealogy. His father Eleazer DEWEY and grandfather Aaron DEWEY do appear to have been Rev War vets -- although I have not got around to obtaining their military service records and checking at D.A.R yet. Thanks for the biographical info on Hon. Hiram DEWEY.
