Hi Listers I know this is a little off Topic from the Above Subject of enlistments, but being a History Buff and reading on Veteran's and the Various Wars I look constantly for interesting information. I recently found this Site about New York and the Civil War. http://www.nycivilwar.us/index.html The article of Interest found on this site that I wanted to share was regarding a Union Veteran Albert Woolson from Minnesota. He D 8/2/1956 at 109 years old and was the oldest and last Civil War Union Veteran. He D in Duluth Minn. They dedicated a monument in his honor at Gettysburg, PA. He had enlisted with Co. C First Minnesota Volunteer Heavy Artillery and was discharged 9/7/1865. But the high light is that Mr Woolson was BORN in Antwerp, Jefferson County, New York In addition someone might be a Woolson Researcher on the List and will have an interest to add this to their family notes.
