Author: PStehm Surnames: Tracy, Howard, Maples Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.jefferson/12753.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Good Morning, I am not actually related to this family, but I am researching this Tracy family to try to discover why they were living in Blackberry Twp, Kane Co., Illinois in the 1850 census and then were back in Ellisburg, Jefferson Co., New York in the 1860 Census. Both William and Amanda were deceased by the 1870 Census. What I was interested in was that a sister of my 5th gr. grandfather, Benevolence Maples, was living with the Tracy's in the 1850 IL census. I was trying to determine if Amanda was another of her daughters. It appears that Amanda Tracy was not her daughter and therefore I do not know why Benevolence was living with the Tracy family. She had a son, Daniel Maples, living in the same town, but she was not with him. Thanks for your interest. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. They probably were some of the Clarks buried at the Tifft cemetery. I am researching the Sweetman family of Tennent/Freehold, NJ that moved to several counties in New York state.
