She was born on May 17, 1854 in Pennsylvania. Her husband, Charles L. Bradley, died on June 1, 1926 in Chautauqua County...who I believe she divorced sometime in the early 1900s. I've also heard of her last name as being Pitt, but I'm pretty sure her maiden name was Smith. I was unable to find anything on Fulton History, as most of the articles that I've seen on there for the Watertown Daily Times are from the 1960s and later. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am interested in finding any local information from Cape Vincent on the below listed article. Especially if any bodies were ever recovered. Russell Dear Rochester Union and Advertiser, November 6, 1873 The following Associated Press dispatch was received last night : Cape Vincent, N.Y. Nov. 5.------- Yesterday afternoon nine fishermen, whose names have not been ascertained, were drowned from a sail boat off Simcoe Island, in the St. Lawrence river. The men were engaged in collecting fish spawn---and they were probably on their way to Cape Vincent, the rendezvous when the disaster occurred. The sail boat was probably the "Island Queen" which laid in Irondequoit Bay all summer. My 2nd great-grand uncle, Wallace Deer (DEAR), who resided in Irondequoit was one of the missing fishermen. -------------------------------------------------- Since the above was written we have received the following dispatch from the telegraph operator at Cape Vincent : "Tuesday afternoon three of Seth Green's men named Wm. Closs, M.G. Holton and Wallace Deer, started with six or seven other fishermen in a sail boat from Pigeon Island, bound to Kingston. A high wind was blowing at the time and it is supposed that the boat being too heavily loaded, was swamped and all on board drowned. A can used by the men for gathering fish spawn and an overcoat, with pieces of the boat were picked up off Simcoe Island yesterday. Parties are out in search of the bodies. No further particulars have been received here yet.Deer is a middle aged man and leaves a wife and six children in destitute circumstances. ____________________________________________________________ Click and get free information on a satisfying career as a massage therapist. http://thirdpartyoffers.juno.com/TGL2141/fc/PnY6rw2ZT2SL9VYn8AdiwcEsbHMpZTlIQqHKOK0apLZGgtonZtkHz/

Dorothy Hunsperger Dies: Mrs. Dorothy Kiett Hunsperger, 75, Granville, a Watertown native, died Wednesday in Glens Falls Hospital after a long illness. Surviving are her husband, John; a son, Richard Curtis, Lancaster; two sisters, Mrs. Alfred (Marguerite) Walrad, Cortland, Mrs. Bernard (Jane) Cassidy, Evans Mills; and three grandsons and two nieces. She was born April 12, 1907 in Watertown, the daughter of John P & Susie Strife Klett. She was married to John A Hunsperger April (here the date is torn off) Lowville. I don't think this is a complete obit. It didn't list a cemetery for burial. I have been adding a lot to the web site below. You may want to check it out. Lists burials in all states and Canada and etc. I have found a lot on it and added a lot. T. I have checked the Cape Vincent Cemetery index and he is not there, although he was from Kingston, Ontario, and may have been buried in Kingston. In 1870, John James was living with his brother Stephen in Omaha, Nebraska, as follows: "Robinson, James, age 32, male, white, carpenter, personal estate $100, born Canada" In the 1851 and 1861 Canada censuses, he is called "John J." and "John James." In the 1890 Directory of Cape Vincent Town, there is a James Robinson, farmer. John James Robinson was born in Kingston Township, Frontenac County, Ontario, 1837 - 1838, to Henry Robinson and Catherine McMahon. Thank you for any tips and direction.
