Byron (1838-1918) was son of pioneer settlers Merchant Stone CARTER & Betsey TAYLOR. Clarissa (1834-1907) was daughter of pioneer settlers Lyman BRITTON & Eliza BANFORD. The Bible contains vitals for all their children, who were: 1. Charles M. Carter, b. 1859 in Brookfield, MO, d. 1934 at Omar, Town of Orleans; married Maria Delia GURNEE, dau. of Ralph. Charles & Maria were parents Frederic Charles Carter who married Henrietta COFFEEN 2. Minnie B. Carter, b. 1861 in Town of Orleans, d. 1899; married Edward FLUNDER of Ontario. Parents of girls Lily Mae Flunder and Louisa Flunder. 3. May E. Carter, b. 1862 in Town of Orleans, d. 1937 at Omar; married Walter E. Collins, son of Erwin. They kept a well known store in Omar, and she was very active in the Methodist Episcopal Church there. Parents of Leland W. Collins, who married Helen GARLOCK. 4. Leland G. Carter, b. 1865, d. 1876. 5. Effie C. Carter, b. 1867, d. 1924. 6. Byron J. Carter, Jr., b. 1870, d. 1876. 7. Floyd L. Carter, b. 1877, d. 1935 (my great-great-grandfather). The Bible contains several photos. One of them, though unmarked, is obviously of Byron. Another is labeled as his son Leland Carter who died young in 1876. I am sure the other photos are of his children but I could really use help figuring out who is who. I am hoping to hear from folks who can help me verify them, please. I have scanned all the photos as well as register pages and uploaded them to my website here: http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~legends/carter.html#byron Thanks for any help in advance! I have found several articles on a Paul Clarke but do not know if this is the right one as it does list a June as his sister, but also lists other relatives - I may be looking at more than one Paul Clarke (from the Fulton Postcards). Harmon Beavers was born 22 February 1807 in New Jersey and died 3 April 1881 in Sennett, Cayuga County, New York. Martha Miller was born in 1811 and died 28 October 1888 in Sennett. Both are buried in Soule Cemetery, Cayuga County. This family was for the most part located in Cayuga County. Ralph Beavers and his sister Martha (Mattie) seem to be the only ones to have located in Jefferson County. Ralph and his wife are buried in Black River Cemetery, Town of Rutland. Mattie married Adelbert Cosselman. They are buried along with some other family menbers in the North Watertown Cemetery. Sources for this information are ancestry.com, LDS Family Search and Old Fulton Post Cards. These sites are easily accessed and have good search capabilities. There are earlier generations of Beavers and Millers shown. Keep in mind that all information obtained in this way should be verified for a! ccuracy whenever possible.
