I am searching for the parents of Nancy Jeffers, who was born on 15 May 1828, in or near St. Johnsville, Montgomery Co., NY. She married Horace Garlock. Their children were born in Jefferson County, NY. Ray
I am a new member. My name is Leslie Ray and I am looking for Alexander Warner who was listed as one of the early settlers in Rutland, Jefferson Co., NY. He is also listed as purchasing land in 1801 in Rutland with a Charles Hill. My ancestors are Warners who married into the Hill family many times. I have been stuck on Boudridge Warner (spelling is always different.) for some time. He has been found in the 1810 census of Rutland, Jefferson Co., NY and I'm hope my lead is correct with Alexander Warner. He could possibly be his father or uncle or something. If anyone know anything about these people I would greatly appreciate all I can get. I am willing to share anything I have. Thank you for your time. Leslie Ray
I am told not many of you know of this nor does your historical society there. I cannot send what I have in my possession, or my hide would be hanging on some barnhouse door before the ink dried on this note, due to the copyright laws....b u t there was a transcript or book "MALTBY GENEALOGY -- AMERICAN LINEAGE" by Mrs. Dorothy Maltby Verrill (1877 - 1957) SUPPLEMENTS by Prof. Fred A. Molby (1878 - 1968) in the neighborhood of 800 pages of nothing but names,places,anecdotes,history...just to name one-there is a 2nd Lt. Jonathon Maltby in the U S Navy serving under a 1st LT John Paul Jones in the Battle of Bunker Hill, and the bravery of Jonathon, a letter from Geo Washington awarding him a "cutter" of his own to Captain! also this is on two websites....the first one being the Maltbys, the second one the Maltbys connecting to Wm. the Conqueror on back to 780. anyone having ancestors there in Jefferson would do well if they checked this book out. Only downside to this, is that it is not indexed, not what I have anyway, however a published version might be. I am trying to locate one that is on the market for sale or thru a interlibrary loan, but so far no luck. appears there might be pictures in it also. my advice to Mr. Ray and all the rest of you that your ancestors going back this far is probably in this book, if it isn't Mr. Ray the coffee is on me! in my opinion this is a documented masterpiece, and should be on every shelf of your libraries. Hi Leslie, I'm in California. I believe my Warner's were from Jefferson County like all my others. They eventually settled in Michigan. Do you have any relatives like this? Please let me know either way so I'm not clogging your mailbox with stuff. Sincerely, Kevin O'Brien Laguna Hills, CA USA Researching: SHANNON PERKINS WARNER LOWE IVALL GAULEY

Michael: If you have time, I would appreciate a lookup: David S Rees to Maceline L. (Laban?Labeau?) about 1840. (David was born 1820, Maceline in 1821; their first child was born 1842) David S Rees to Maryetta ? about 1890. (Believe Maryetta was a widow. Previous married name possibly McIntyre.) David's first wife Maceline died 1889, David died 1898. Thank you! Ruth
Michael, Thanks for your offer to look up marriages. I know you'll be overwhelmed with requests. I spend a lot of hours doing lookups of vital events for others, here in BC. We are very fortunate to have our index online & the records themselves accessible and photocopies can be made for 50 cents. So, I've been able to give a lot of help to others in many parts of the world. I do have a rather solid brick wall which happens to be in Jefferson County. These are my 3G grandparents and their two (known) children were born in Sackets Harbor in 1834 & 1835, so I'm hoping they may have been married there. 1 Edward DOLAN(also spelled DOLAND and DALEN) +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Birth: abt 1796, USA (according to 1871 Canadian census) Census: 1830, Hounsfield, Jefferson, NY, USA (I haven't seen these entries) Census: 1840, Hounsfield, Jefferson, NY, USA Occ: Plasterer Reli: Episcopal Methodist Spouse: Persis UNKNOWN1 If you could look for them on one of your visits to the library, I would truly appreciate it. This book is available from the compilers, John and Ellen Bartlett. Email them at instone@aol.com for details. Grooms and Brides of Jefferson County. I have been looking for Sarah (Sally) Allen's wedding for so long. She married George S. Barnett. Could someone please look this up? They were married in 1830. Sarah Allen was born in Pamelia, St. Lawrence Co., NY on 21 June 1813 George S. Barnett was born ca 1809-1813 in St. Lawrence Co., NY. He died 21 Feb 1850 and we are searching for the cause of death. If you have any information that would be helpful to me....or a direction that I could go to search, I would appreciate it so much. Information on these two is elusive. They had three children: Hiram Barnett, Benjamin Barnett, and Julia Barnett. Cheers: MaryLou Barnett Klemm
Would you please check for the marriage of George Andrew Snyder? He lived in Pamelia, Jefferson County. I don't know the date of the marriage, but am guessing approximately 1845-60. Thanks so much for your offer. Ardis McLeod

Co. weddings prior to 1830 ? Dare I hope ?? Thanks. Helen.
Did you get any responses yet? I am sure that the book is at the Utah Genealogical Society in Salt Lake, and I plan to make a trip there in about 2 months. Thank you for tipping me off to the book. If you don't get a bite from Jefferson County, let me know, and I'll be happy to look it up when I next go to Salt Lake.
