    2. Sue, You may already be aware, but there was another early Solomon Smith in Jefferson County. He was born in Rhode Island and came with Nicholas Salisbury to the county in 1800. I suspect he is too old to ever get confused with your Solomon Smith. Larry Turner Kelso, WA

    1. Re: [NYJEFFER] THIS TOPIC IS OFF LIMITS WITH NO EXCEPTION "Final"
    2. Hello Listers Again and Final I must advise you that this TOPIC is OFF Limits. Let's drop it. I do not want to see any further discussion regarding the Lists or anyone's personal opinion. This is a Mailing List for Genealogical and Historical discussion (or related subject) only. Also anyone that has any further problem can address in in the correct manner such as it should have been in the beginning. There are many changes being made on the Mailing Lists and Message Boards that many of you are unaware of. Many Genealogical Sites have been purchased by the same companies where previously they were separate. Some of these sites will be changing in due time. Let's wait and see what the final results will be for everything. By having a "Panic" over it will not resolve the problem. If you don't want to bother answering the Gatewayed Messages than do not answer them it is as simple as that. No one has told you that you have to answer them. But discussion about them is not for this Mailing List. Sometimes you have to realize that things are not always the way you want them. Regards Pat R [email protected] Mailing List Administrator

    1. Re: [NYJEFFER] Messages and Problems
    2. Hello [email protected] Listers Problems or Gripes about the Mailing List or the Administrator This is not a subject that should be discussed on the List. If someone has a problem they are to write to: [email protected] This is the procedure as always and the message will be given to me as List Administrator. They have also been advised several times since I have taken over the List if they have a problem they can write to me direct also at: [email protected] At this Time I am advising everyone that both questions and answers to these problems are "off limits" and should be handled in the proper method. The questions should not be brought up on the List and a respond should not be given. Regards Pat R [email protected] Mailing List Administrator

    3. I question why us listers have to put up with these gateway-ed messages. In the current format, we basically see responses, without the actual original message unless one goes several steps to see what the original post was. So mostly filling our list with nearly meaningless messages. Plus as others have indicated, listers will easily reply to the list instead of the message board and this wastes kindly listers time and the board people don't receive the help they were looking for.
