Did someone mention Hannah Babcock? I have a Hannah Babcock, 1817-1891, married Myron Hammond and had five children. She was my great aunt's mother-in-law. Ruth K
Thanks Florence, I am always amazed that more of the Babcock family is not searching their family. There were scads of Babcocks in the Jeff county area, but I can't find anyone researching the name, or if I do find them, it isn't my line and they've not heard of the ones I'm looking for. I'll keep going though, I always do. Can anyone find more information on this Edward Herrick? The 1810 census for Rodman shows him with two males under 10, one male 45 and over, two females 10-16, one female 16-26, and one female 26-45. I would like to learn the names of Edward's wife, and children, and what happened to all of them. I believe he might be the Edward Herrick, born in 1761 in Preston, CT to Ebenezer and Esther (Braman) Herrick, and is in the 1791 census for Poultney, Rutland Co., VT with one male under 16, one male 16 and over, two females. Also in Poultney in 1800 with one male 26-45, four females under 10, two females 10-16 and one female 26-45. I also believe that one of the above Edward's sons was Edward born 5 June 1805 and died 16 Oct. 1857. This Edward married Almira Thurston about 1835. They had eight children: Delos, Reuben, Angeline R., Hannah, Mary, Josephine, William and Emogene. They lived in various towns in Jefferson County, Theresa, Alexandria. I have a little more information on this family, but would like to learn more, if possible. Thanks for any help you can give me. Joann Nichols
Florence, Linda & Marilyn, I would be interested in learning more about the Babcock's of Henderson and Adams. A sister of my great-great-grandmother Lydia A. (Kennedy) Stokes (1856-1936) of Henderson married Eugene Babcock of Adams -- I think her name was Nell or Linna, not sure. I have a newspaper clipping about a Kennedy Family Reunion held at the Babock home in Adams Centre in 1917, as well as some family photographs I think were taken at the event, posted on my website. I would be grateful for some help matching up names in the article to faces in the photos: http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~legends/kennedy.html I would also like to learn more about their descendants in the Babcock line. Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks in advance!
