The following was viewed when I pulled up information on one William Kickley. William Kickley was born in Portland, Canada, where he married Clara Simons, by whom he had three sons and two daughters, viz.: Henry, Shirley, Joseph, Sophia, and Clara. Upon the death of his first wife he married Jane Ralph, by whom he had no children. Shirley Kickley enlisted in Co. B, 6th N. Y. Cavalry, December 30, 1864, and served until the close of the war. In 1870 he married Josephine Fultz, of this town, and they have two children, Maud E. and Melvin S. Mr. Kickley is a farmer on road 45, in this town. I would be curious if you have any further information on willaim or Clara Simons. Lucinda Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [NYJEFFER] Jennings in Cape Vincent New York
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: mikepeterson611 Surnames: Jennings Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.newyork.counties.jefferson/12743/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about my great grandfather William A. Jennings (1832-1892). William was born in England (London area) and came to the USA in 1856. I believe he had a couple of relatives (brothers or cousins) living in the Jefferson County area (Cape Vincent): James Jennings (born about 1800-1810 in England and arrived in the USA in 1835 with his wife Alice) George Jennings (born about 1812-1816 in England and arrived in 1841 with his wife Harriet) and John Jennings (born about 1820 in England and not sure when he arrived in the USA, he married Catherine (abt 1845) in New York after his arrival). I've found John and James's indexes in the 1855 Census. They are both in Cape Vincent John on page 13 and James on page 44. I've found all three of these men and their families in the Cape Vincent area in the 1850 US Census. What I need to find is George Jennings in the NEW YORK 1855 State Census. I think he should be in Cape Vincent in 1855, but he may be in Clayton or in Worth (where he shows up in 1860 US Census). Rumor has it, that living with George Jennings in 1855 is a Mary J. Hunter (born 1837 in Scotland) listed as a "Border". When William A. Jennings shows up in 1856, he marries Mary J. Hunter. Also, there is supposed to be a newspaper article in some newspaper in the Cape Vincent / Clayton area (Jefferson County) listing the announcement of their marriage on or around December 24, 1857 near Cape Vincent (they were listed as being from Clayton). Also, their first son William Henry Jennings was born in Oct 1858 in New York. In 1858-1859, William A. Jennings and Mary J Hunter-Jennings leave New York and take their family to Boone County Iowa. I'd be interested in any news articles or other New York state Census information of any of these Jennings men or their families: James Jennings (in New York 1835-1875), George Jennings (in New York 1841-1865, I think he migrates to Wisconsin with a 2nd wife Almira Brown), John Jennings or William Jennings (in New York 1856-1859) Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
