Dear Judy, I just got information about an ancestor from the Albany area serving in the Battle of Plattsburg. Actually, he was "drafted" to go north to defend the area against British attack, but arrived after the action. I'd suggest you look for 1812 pension papers. The ones I got listed where he lived when he was called up, age, birthplace, and included a sworn statement identifying his brother and some valuable info about him.
