Her parents were John v Putnam born April 12 1776, Montgomery County, Her mother was Katherine Hanson born December 2 1782 also Montgomery County. They were married Dec. 5 1802. Their children beside Margaret were Victor 05/22/1804, Henry V 12/22/1806, Hannah 02/02/1810, Aron 10/06/1812, and Aberham 6/02/1814. Margaret married Peter Raymond Plantz: one of their daughters Rebecca Ann married James Bont Kested. This is all in Montgomery County. James and Rebecca later moved to Dixon Illinois. They are buried in a rural cemetery there. If this is anything you find I would really be interested because James and Rebecca were my mothers grandparents. I wish I could help you but I don't have any more information on my Margaret to even say which family she came from. My Margaret did not live in Montgomery Co. NY after her marriage to Jacob V. Shaft (that I know about anyway). Jacob V. and Margaret went to Shiawassee Co. MI in about 1847 where she died in 1861.
