Hi Barbara, Go to www.rootsweb.com/~maillist/ (Note the two letter l's) In the table called "User Mailing Lists Hosted by Rootsweb", click on "Rootsweb Mailing Lists -- Interactive Search" It's the fourth line down, right under "Lists too new to be categorized". On the "Interactive Search" page that it takes you to, type in "nyherkim" (without quotation marks) for the name of the list and click "Submit Query". It will take you to a page where you can search the archives, your choice of 1998 or 1999. A lot of the Rootsweb lists can be searched here. I just now tested it by searching nyherkim for my own posts, and it worked.
