Hi, I thought that Sauquoit was in Oneida County, but on the directory of 1917 Herkimer has listed my Grandfather George Jury as living in Sauquoit and a farmer. He was a farmer in Litchfield as my uncle was born there in 1915 and three of my brothers in 1927-1928- 1931. In the 1930s George Jury had a coal business in Sauquoit. Let me rephrase that. I know he had a coal company in Sauquoit in the middle 1930s as my Dad built a home next to the business and I lived there from 1934 to around 1941. They have built a road where the home and coal business and an old mill used to be. To get back to my question is Sauquoit in Oneida or Herkimer Counties? I went a long way to as a simple question.
