Personally, I find that what is important is that the subject matter of the message be clearly displayed. Sometimes capital letters help with this, BUT SOMETIMES, ESPECIALLY IF THERE IS A LOT OF TEXT IN CAPS, THEN NOTHING IN PARTICULAR STANDS OUT AND IT JUST LOOKS LIKE SHOUTING!!!! The opinion expressed by CEE is valid, but not universally held. A contrary perspective is that surnames should be spelled correctly and that capitalization matters and can change the interpretation of the name. I have no desire to start an argument over this, but I suggest that everyone consider that if CEE wishes to lose the benefit of messages because they don't conform to her protocol, then that is her/his problem and not necessarily a reason for others to change their behavior.
