Judi, you're a lady after mine own heart. The Rasbach book may have missed the second marriage of John M. Rasbach, son of Marks Rasbach. The first marriage of John M.(1801-1854) to Rosanna DeLong (1803-1849) resulted in the seven chilidren. Theodore was Rosanna's last child as you have noted. John M. married the second time to Eliza Devendorff (1818-1855/1856) and seven children resulted from this marriage, Do I understand correctly that the Rasbach book doesn't list this event ? Perhaps it was because John M. remarried and migrated to Jefferson County, NY just after, or just before his second marriage. Marks, father of John M., married Elizabeth Diefendorff (1776-1827). She lived about five years after Marks (1769-1822) died. I wasn't aware of a second marriage of Marks. It must have been his first. Will you send details? Incidentally, Elizabeth Devendorff is my 3rd great grandaunt, Eliza Devendorff, her niece, and my great grand aunt, John M., my first cousin, four generations removed. Rosanna's sister, Hannah, married John W. Devendorff, my 2nd great grandfather. John W. and Hannah were the parents of Eliza Devendorff. It gets stickier with the son of Eliza and John M. Rasbach, but enough for now. My sincere thanks for your patience. randy -----Original Message----- From: Judi Boniface <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Saturday, March 27, 1999 3:32 AM Subject: Re: [NYHERKIM-L] MERRILL, George W., RASBACH, Mary >John M Rasbach m. 1823 Rosanna Delong (1803-1849), Theodore was born 1834. >Other children were born 1823-1843, I only see one wife.
