I rarely solicit help on a list but I'm stuck on the birthplace of my g-g-g-grandparents. I can't travel to New York or any LDS FHC's anytime soon to look this up myself in the 1855 & 1865 NY State Census. They were James and Almira Miller of Winfield, Herkimer Co, NY. All the census records are ambiguous for James, to say the least. One year it's NY & CT, then CT & CT, then another says VT & CT. I'm pretty sure Almira Harrington was born in CT, but for James, I don't know. I thought, that because the state census asks for the NY county of birth, more attention would have been given to accuracy because of this added detail if he were born in NY. If anyone has access to these, I sure would appreciate a look. Sincerely, Michael J. Miller
