Martin M. BURST is listed in Herkimer County, NY. I remember looking at the index on this, once, and dismissing it for poor timing. I am not now so sure! My Martin BURST lived much of his life and died in Luzerne County, PA. He had been in the Civil War and lost a leg in that war. He was my g,g-grandfather. He married thrice, my ancestress being the 2nd wife. I have never successfully found his roots. He has been listed in two or three ways, depending upon the source. It seems to point to a a British background, and a New York background, simultaneously! He was a Primitive Methodist. Can anyone do the 1840 lookup for me and, if possible, send me the image? This guy had to come from somewhere! Also, if you happen to connect to the surname, I would like to hear of that. Thanks, Vince Summers ":O>)
