It has been suggested here several times that people check familysearch for births, marriages, etc. I would encourage people to use those sources but then go back and look for original records, there are just too many mistakes at familysearch to take what they say verbatim, sometimes the information is just totally wrong. As to the suggestion that you try to obtain county histories from Inter-Library loan, you will have better luck getting them from an FHL library if they are available. Genealogy books are seldom loaned out for obvious reasons, you can't replace them in many cases and if they are being loaned out, they are not available to people who come to the library to do research. The Herkimer County Historical Society has a web site at www.rootsweb.com/~nyhchs with many family sketches listed, unfortunately Reese is not one of them. The Society has a wealth of information and should be considered one of the best sources for Herkimer County genealogical information. Better yet, come here and visit and do your research in person! This is a beautiful area to visit, we have some spectacular scenery and you can always go looking for Herkimer Diamonds in your spare time. Then take a tour of General Herkimer's Home, the Oriskany Battlefield, the list is endless ...
