My grgrgrandfather Alfred Cross was married to a Nancy. I have a very old letter in my possession that was written to my mother from a cousin of hers that stated that Nancy's maiden name was Dockstader. I have an old family bible that belonged to the Cross family. It states that Nancy's birthday was April 30, 1812. I just found this entry on ancestry.com: Baptism Record of Caughnawaga Reformed Church, 1758-1899 Baptismal Date: 1812 Father: Abraham J. Van Alstine Mother: Mary Dockstader Item Number: 4277 Child: Nancy Birth Date: 30 Apr If this Nancy was born the same year she was baptized then her birthday of April 30, 1912 would be same as my Nancy who was married to Alfred Cross. Notice that this Nancy's mother's maiden name was Dockstader. Perhaps my mother's cousin was incorrect in stating that my Nancy's maiden name was Dockstader and it was really Nancy's mother whose maiden name was Dockstader. I am wondering if anybody knows anything about this Nancy who was the daughter of Abraham Van Alstine and Mary Dockstader. Does anybody know who this family is and whether this Nancy ever married and if so who to? Thanks, Kathy
