Michael You have this same message on several different Mailing Lists in New York State, (all for different Counties), which county are you seeking your Ancestors in and did you check for them on any of the Census Records? Regards Pat R
Pat, I apologize for the confusion. The reason I posted to 3 different counties is that Northampton once existed Montgomery Co. and now it resides within the boundaries of Fulton Co. Herkimer & Montgomery Co. histories, to me, seem to be intermingled at times because Montgomery Co. was formed from Herkimer Co. (or vice versa - I get those mixed up), or something like that. Anyway, I just wanted to cover the bases. I know that my ancestors passed away in Northampton, but I am trying to find out information where they may have been buried & get ideas on where I could research or write to in order to inquire about where they might have been buried. I tried the same thing, Michael, with no results. I've been looking for John and Persis Shaw all my grown life. When I found out their son, Warren Shaw, was born in 1808 in Johnstown, Fulton County, I joined that Roots Web site...no luck. I wrote to the Historical Society over there...no luck. I found out Warren Shaw married Samantha Millington from Russia, Herkimer County, so I joined that site....no luck. I sent thirty dollars to that Historical Society....no luck. At one time that area was Tryon County....no luck there either. A very nice lady, a Shaw researcher, Deborah Mason, spent days trying to help me...no luck. I don't know what the answers are, but I can give you plenty of questions to try. Don't give up. Michael wrote: > Pat, > > I apologize for the confusion.
