    1. [NYHERKIM-L] Wightman search
    2. Norm Weinreber
    3. Has anyone located a Wightman family in Herkimer Co. Probably German Flatts or Herkimer not long after 1790? I am trying to locate the family of Allen and Rhoda Wightman and their children: Aurunah, Rhoda Lathrop, Mary, James, Lucy, George, Abiel, Sarah, Elizabeth, Allen Jr., and Simon. I have dates of their births and deaths but would like to learn.. where did they live, what was their work and what were living conditions like during the area in which they lived there in the Mohawk Valley? Both Allen and Rhoda are buried in Lakeview Cemetery in the village of Skaneateles. Any help appreciated, L.

    2. Dear Lisa, I am so happy to get your post! I am researching the entire Plastridge family as at this point they all seem to be related. This Herkimer branch is a real puzzle to me. I have documented almost all the family from 1751 to the midd 1900's and I have never heard of any of them in Herkimer Co. I would love any research you would have on your ggg grandfather's sister and her descendents. Do you have any census records on her and Isaac? Really any info at all, any tidbit would be greatly appreciated! I have not done any research in NY up to this point. I see that Isaac died in 1914. How would I get a death cert for him? Are there spaces for his parent's names this early? Thanks so much for your response, I look forward to hearing from you. Kathy Karn

    3. Kathy, I might be able to give you some information on PLASTRIDGE. My ggg-grandfather sister's Margaret STARING married Isaac PLASTRIDGE. I do not have a birthdate for her, but she died 27 Jun 1901 in Mohawk, NY. If this is the same please let me know and I can maybe give you some more info. 1. [NYHERKIM-L] Please READ this Bill Barker CD Lookups
    2. Karen Hunter
    3. As any of you can tell who email me I have my only computer at my business. It is a retail wholesale store and any time I do on genealogy is at best limited. Sometimes when it is very quiet in the store I have more time. Now as to lookups on the Bill Barker CD I want to explain something. There are three county sections on the CD Each county section has a table of contents for the main section only there is no table of contents for the miscellaneous sections. so if you ask me to do a lookup I will have to first look in each county and if there is no main section for that name then I will have to look in the bulk of the section like r-t in Montgomery for instance. That is very time consuming and I honestly don't mind but it could take me a week to check out each request because of my time limitations. I really don't mind doing the lookups at all but it won't be fast. The CD seems to be only compatible with Windows 95 and better and you must have word to read the documents.
