    1. [NYHERKIM-L] My Search in New York state
    2. hi Group , I have just signed on to this list , I am not a ' newbie ' !! , I am just expanding my Search Locations ....... I am looking for anybody that has a family connection to any ' POTTER ' in New York State in the time frame of 1825- 40 I have extracted every Potter out of the 1830 Fed Census , looking for the parents of my GG-Grandmother , And , to save me a lot of usless work I wish to eliminate those people on my list That I can find names of their children ...... So if you have any Potters that are know to you , I would like to ' talk ' to you ..... For the record ; I am looking for the ' record ' of birth for Emma Mira Potter ' born Feb 17 1829 ..... Don`t be going to the LDS site looking for me , All you will find is my ' correction submission ' which is NOT correct , It is a ' MERGED MESS ' ...... and I know that there are no civil records kept before 1880s , etc etc ..... thanks , Phil

    1. [NYHERKIM-L] COUNTY FOR SAUQUOIT
    2. Claire Jury-Cranford
    3. Hi, I thought that Sauquoit was in Oneida County, but on the directory of 1917 Herkimer has listed my Grandfather George Jury as living in Sauquoit and a farmer. He was a farmer in Litchfield as my uncle was born there in 1915 and three of my brothers in 1927-1928- 1931. In the 1930s George Jury had a coal business in Sauquoit. Let me rephrase that. I know he had a coal company in Sauquoit in the middle 1930s as my Dad built a home next to the business and I lived there from 1934 to around 1941. They have built a road where the home and coal business and an old mill used to be. To get back to my question is Sauquoit in Oneida or Herkimer Counties? I went a long way to as a simple question. Sorry. Can anyone straighten me out? Claire Jury Cranford, in North Carolina

    3. To add to this a little, on the back of the CD packaging the following statement is made. which I will quote. "The book on this CD is intended as a reference for researchers. It contains genealogical data on about 324 familes of the New York Counties of Herkimer, Montgomery, and Schoharie prior to the year 1825. As of February 1999, the book was about 1,748 pages in length. The CD extends on the genealogies found in the author's books on Herkimer Families, Montgomery Families and Schoharie Families (the latter two were released only in draft form)." To me it sounds like the books were updated through the CD! I *did* find one FINCH, but I already knew all about her. War Stone Arabia Church Records Volume 2, p. 136 Another source if William Barker's History of Montgomeroy County Families, which I can't find.
