We are searching for Philo Snyder. Information gave to me by mother-in-law. This is my husbands great great grandfather, he married Catherine Maybee, and had a son Ashley B. Snyder. He was one of a set of triplets, born in Catskills. No one is sure if that is the town or the mountains. He fought in the Civil War. His two brothers names are suppose to be Philander, and Philip. I have found a Philo Snyder living with Philip and Margaret Snyder on the 1850 census in Durham, if one of the triplets were named Philip that would makes sense. The 1855 census has Catherine Maybe Snyder born in Albany, New York, her date of birth changes on different census from 1836-1840. I believe they may married in the Durham area. Ashley B Snyder was born in Sep 1857 in Green County. By 1860 Catherine and Ashley where living in Lewis County and I have no idea where Philo when. I find Civil War record for a Philo Snyder from NY, but if this is him he didn't enlist until 1864, it says he was discharged, so I don't think he died in the war. The last census I find him on says he was a furnace man. Philip was a miller per the census. Was wondering if anyone has any information on this Snyder family or any Maybee families which Catherine may belong to. I think she maybe have had a sister or some kind of relative named Sabrina. I believe this because in 1860 she was living/working for an Austin family in Demark, Lewis county and in 1855 a Sabrina Maybe was living/working for them.
