I am seeking information about the following folks who are my ancestors on Mother's side. This is the information I have found from census reports. Eli Wright b.1832 New York Eliza Wright b.1836 d. Avesta b.1853? or 12/1849? s. Bradford b.1858 _______________________________________________ Avesta Wright Greene b.?12/31/1854 RICHARD(?) Greene__ b.__10/1847? New York s.Herbert Wright Greene s. Omar Vivien__( this son was a business man or salesman, as he vanished while on a trip to Salt Lake City. I don't know if his first name was Omar or Vivien.) I have a Civil War diary (partial) which has no name inside, but seems to indicate that perhaps this Richard? Greene enlisted from NY and served with the 156th Regiment Infantry, mustered in November 1862 and left for Louisiana. In 1850 there is an Elias Wright age 17 residing in a hotel in Canisteo, Steuben Co., NY, a laborer born in NY 1855 census for Greene Co. at Durham has a Bradford Wright who is a farmer, 37, with a son Henry age 12 born in Albany Co. and a daughter Avista, age 5. Wife is Mary is 34 who was born in Albany County. 1860 census for Greenville, Greene Co., NY Wright Eli age 28, laborer Eliza age 24 Bradford age 2 Arvesta 6/12 (six months) All born in New York 1870 Gilboa, Schoharie Co., NY page 193 Wright Bradford age 12 Olivinia age 10 both born in New York and both attending school They are directly under the listing for Elias Gordon age 63 and his wife Mary J. age 49, both born in New York. Elias is a farmer. I suspect they are residing with this family and in some way are related to them. There is also another Bradford Wright family Cairo, Greene Co., NY, page 165 WRIGHT Bradford age 52 Mary age 48 Ella age 12 Lucius age 10 Bradford is a farmer. All were born in New York. Perhaps Bradford, age 12 is his nephew. Residing with the Bradford Wright family is Cornelius (cannot make out the last name) age 21, a farmer. The next family on this page is: WRIGHT Henry age 27, a farmer Julia age 20, keeping house both born in New York Then comes a Wickland family and then, WRIGHT Clinton age 58, farmer Elenore age 49, keeping house Irving P. age 18, farmer All born in New York 1880 Durham, Greene Co., NY page 2B WRIGHT Bradford age 61, farmer Mary age 21, daughter, at home Lucious age 19, son, at home All born in New York On this same page is: KERTLAND Joseph age 62, farmer Louisa age 56, wife, keeping house Residing with them: WRIGHT, Bell age 25, niece, at home Bradford age 24, nephew, farm laborer All born in New York. Joseph's parents were born in Connecticut On the next page is Kirtland, William age 72, a brother to Joseph, a boarder, born in New York. Then further down on this page is: WRIGHT Silas age 63, farmer, born in NY and parents born in Connecticut Elener age 48, wife Mattie age 20 daughter William H. age 18 son WRIGHT Anson age 57 Sarah 55 SEARLS, John age 80, father in law Residing with them is a Gibson family Osker age 38 son in law Mary E age 33 daughter Alton age 10 grandson Wilber age 5 grandson All born in New York WRIGHT, Abigail age 87, mother, boarder born in Connecticut WRIGHT Charles 52 farmer Abigail 55 wife Arthur 14 son All born in New York 1900 Catskill, Greene Co., NY pages 9A and 9B (I did not check on any other Wright's in this census) WRIGHT Bradford age 42 born September 1857 Isabella age 43 born August 1856 Mabel K born June 1884 age 15 Hazel age 9 born April 1891 Buried at Locust Hill Cemetery in the Town of Greenville. There are other Wrights buried here.
